Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

Oh, I am sorry to hear this. She was a feisty girl and if she did pass I can imagine she would have chosen to do it her way much the same as she raised her chicks. She had a long and happy life. :hugs

Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

Glynda looks surprised at the results of her diy dye job and Phyllis appears to look a little upset at the results. Girls, having done many of these myself over the years, I will pass down the wisdom of women wiser than I was at the time: It will grow out.

Oh I know, however that kiddo is pretty level headed tbh. She has the soul of experience animal handler I swear 😂 doesn’t bother her overmuch. That said, I personally am glad we got em down before that happened, as an immediate shower is about all that would fix that!

Chick hatched out with one very large eye

It seems to be normal sized for its breed which is English Orpington. I think I will just go super slow with integrating them. First side by side then inside with a place to go the bigs cant reach. Thank you good advice!

Chick hatched out with one very large eye

It is really difficult to tell for sure. But my observation is that I do think the chick can currently see out of it. I am also very concerned about it getting pecked especially during integration assuming of course it makes it.

Chick hatched out with one very large eye

I have a chick that was born with one normal-sized eye and one eye that is significantly larger. Despite this, the chick has been behaving normally since it hatched. It eats, drinks, poops, and scratches around without any issues. There have been no visible signs of infection, both currently...

Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

Adorable 🥰 Remember when I got my first chicks? I got mystery chicks. It was very frustrating to wait to figure that out. I can sympathize 100%! I was able to figure it out at about the time they were fully feathered. It will become clear soon!

Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

Oh it’s weird isn’t it? Believe it or not it has gotten better just very slowly. I have a bit of hope that it will right itself. Time will tell, she is eating, drinking, and pooping. She is scratching around and doing all the normal chick stuff like the others so 🤷‍♀️. I may post over on the...
