She hasn’t sat in them at all. She is a free range game hen. She comes and lays an egg everyday in a little nesting box and then runs off again. I’m just worried she won’t go broody before the cold front comes in.
I’m not really sure what the breed is of my chickens. There is 4 of them laying now and some days 5 of them. My ducks are Pekin and khaki Campbell and one of them is laying. One of them is over a year old and the others were hatched last summer around July.
The temp is supposed to be below freezing this week and my hen has 13 eggs. She isn’t sitting on them yet so I don’t know what to do. Is there something I can do to help? I don’t want the eggs to go bad…
I have 5 duck hens and none are laying yet. I don’t know why mine aren’t but I have talked to others who have ducks and theirs is laying. I also have 15 (chicken) hens and only 2 of them are laying.
I have a baby turkey that’s been trying to hatch since yesterday. I think it may be having trouble but I’m not sure if I should try to help or not. All of the others that popped at the same time have already hatched. What do y’all think?
Thanks everyone! I bought some guineas today and they’re babies so I put them in with my baby chicks but the chicks don’t like it and they’re being mean to them..should I take them back out and separate or will they eventually start to be friends?
I’m new here. I’ve had chickens for a couple of months now. I have maybe around 50 or so now because they’re so addicting!! I also have 12 ducks and 4 turkeys 🦃… I’m still learning as I go but they’re so much fun to raise! I even have my son interested in them so it’s something we do together...
