    Chickens eating paint!

There is a product available from Benjamin Moore that is made to stop existing paint from peeling and flaking in food prep areas. There are probably a few other manufacturers as well. If memory serves me correctly I think it is called PeelStop. Way easier then trying to strip the paint. Edit...

    EZ Frame Chicken Coop Build

Too cool and nice work! I would use some small trim, like quarter-round, and nail it up to the perimeter of the wallpaper. Follow that with a quick coat or 2 of some Thompson's WaterSeal and I bet it will last at decade. The Thompson's WaterSeal is good stuff, just do like Phizer and utilize...

Covering chain link fenced roof ideas w/ odd layout

Hello neighbor, I am in CT also. May I ask if this covering is intended for hawk protection? I ended up covering a 25'x50' run for less then $40 with an aircraft cable perimeter line and mason's string for the 'netting'. I am cheap and bored. So far (4-5months) it is holding up nicely.

As for the windows what you really want to use there is a bonding primer like the one in the pic. As long as you give the substrate a quick scuff with a scotchbrite pad followed by a wipe down with a damp rag and let it dry before priming it will be very durable. Follow the steps of the fog coat...

    EZ Frame Chicken Coop Build

Awesome progress! You can fix that broken plastic with super glue (thin CA) and baking soda. Use 2 tiny drops of glue to tack it back together. After that dries sprinkle layer of baking soda over the crack then add small drops of the super glue and soak the baking soda. Final step, while that is...

    EZ Frame Chicken Coop Build

Sorry I was late lol. It greatly increases adhesion. It is easy to fog by spraying from a further distance and slighty increasing the speed of your stroke. You only have to wait till dry to touch for the following coat. Other tricks are, Even passes from edge to edge. Always start or stop your...

    EZ Frame Chicken Coop Build

Quick pro tip for spraying paint out of rattle cans; Clean surface and dry, spray your 1st coat as a "fog coat" (very thin and very light coat) and let dry to touch. Then finish with 2 more coats applied normally (50% overlap with each pass). The secret sauce is the fog coat. Always clean and...

    EZ Frame Chicken Coop Build

If I was building this I would be sure to use a "washer head" screw vs. a "flush head" screw. Those look like injection molded plastic and the 'V' shaped head will cause cracks and improper clamping force. The top pic, below, is the proper style. The pics on their site show the other 2nd pic type.

I like that color alot! It will reflect nicely off the white walls especially with a semigloss or gloss white. Out of curiosity are you using quality, exterior grade decking screws? Nice work.

    Old Playhouse Rennovation

It is great that you are repurposing and not afraid of a little bit of work! If I had limited budget I would remove the rear wall and flip it so the openings were lower. I would use those openings for 3 nest boxes off the rear ( I know you already built them so I am not trying to rain on your...
