Some of my relatives in Colombia ( Where cockfighting is still legal ) have raised gamefowl for many years, and probably some flocks of mixed free-ranging birds. One of my grand uncles apparently has a farm where he breeds gamefowl. Never met the guy, but would love too, and experience his birds.
I just find white birds to be rather beautiful, and I would love to preserve heritage breeds. Knowing that a lot of American breeds have or had a white variety that is rare or is extinct makes me want to preserve that variety due to its rareness and history.
If I were to have Icelandics what would I breed for? They are a landrace, and therefore have no set standard. So what would you select for and against to keep the Icelandics, Icelandics. This also applies to every other landrace out there.
This is the link to the thread. Actually a few years ago there was this thread where a bunch of people were looking for these birds for their own private aviaries. From what I understand they had limited success on the amount of tinamous they were able to get within the country or import.
There is Navas ranch which I just discovered. They sell many varieties of gamefowl all beautiful. You might be interested Florida Bullfrog. Then there is an EBay seller who sell Rampuri Asil. Navas ranch also raises Rampuri Asil.
