    Chick choking?? Crop issue?

Hi, I've got a week old chick who is breathing heavy, sticking its head up and seems to be gasping for air. Once in a while it squeaks when trying to cheep, doesn't sound raspy or have any eye or nose discharge so I don't think it's a respiratory illness. It's crop feels firmer and small unlike...

    Yellow/green diarrhea

Thanks for the feedback. I should note that her previous grain, Nutrena Hearty Hen, is also soy free. I don't think she's holding off for treats. Before yesterday she was not eating at all. Yesterday since she seemed a little brighter and finally ate other things and free ranged. I think if she...

    Yellow/green diarrhea

Here's my recent update. I haven't gotten a fecal done on her yet because the local vets want an exam which is $100+ I'm not willing to spend yet. She's brighter and seems like she's having a mix between semi-firm and loose poop. Still a greenish color but more white now. This feels like...

Emergency supplies needed for large chick order

Hi! :) In June I am getting 70+ chicks in the mail. I'm looking for a list of "essential supplies" I should keep on hand for these babies in anticipation of problems that need immediate treatment? I do have some various probiotic packs and things like that but I'm wondering if anyone has a good...

    Chicken coop exterior base

Hi there! We're designing our 12x16 chicken coop. The plan is to build it on a concrete base or on gravel and then have it up on concrete blocks. We're wondering what your coop is sitting on and what you'd recommend? The location for the new coop can get a little squishy when we get several...

    Yellow/green diarrhea

What kind of reproductive problem could she have and is it something that can be reasonably treated? I'll call my local vet to do a fecal float. Thanks for your knowledge and advice.

    Long term injury from rooster??

That makes sense, to me it's interesting that she's had it for so long with no improvement, and now that she's had a little molt it hasn't seemed to improve. Haven't seen anyone pecking it or anything

    Yellow/green diarrhea

Will try to get pics tomorrow. She's 1 1/2 years old. Not sure when she laid last, I have over 20 hens and some are molting so about half are laying. She hasnt laid while being separated which has been about 4 days. She feels the same to me. Thanks!

    Yellow/green diarrhea

Hen had diarrhea all over her back end. I soaked her and cleaned it off. Now she's in her own coop and run for monitoring. Diarrhea seems to be reduced but now it's green and yellow. I am adding Corid to the water. She's not eating and I'm not sure what the next steps are!

How much would you pay for 2yo birds?

Hi there Later this year I'll be selling 7 golden comets around 2 years old. They will likely still be laying but at 2 years old we'd be replacing them with younger ones to keep egg production up. How much would you list these birds for? Lots of people in my area looking for retirement birds...

    Long term injury from rooster??

Hi chicken experts, hoping you can give me some advice as I'm not very experienced with chicken injuries! In the fall we had a rooster who was over breeding the hens so I sent him away. This was his favorite hen. I thought with time it would heal up but it's been a few months and looks the...
