    The Legbar Thread!

My first Legbars years ago were a nice size, so much bigger then these. I have to say, if they do not get some size to them over the winter they will have to go. They are just too small to me.

    The Legbar Thread!

Hi guys!! Who has Rees Legbars? I have someone questions. Well, really one. Are they small? My flock of Rees Legbars are around 7 months old and small!!!! This is my rooster and that is a blue cooper marans hen standing behind him. He is small. Aren't they suppose to be bigger?

    MARYLAND THREAD!

I personally would not keep silkies with large birds. One wrong peck to the head could seriously injure a silkie.

    MARYLAND THREAD!

It's not really a good idea to mix a single silkie with Large fowl birds. They tend to get picked on.

    MARYLAND THREAD!

We get sand in bulk from the local landscaping place. I believe it is construction sand and we've never had an issue with it.

These are my babies. Love this color. I've also recently added 3 more pullets from another breeder! The amazing thing is both these girls started laying at 5.5 months.

    The Legbar Thread!

I would say both the Marans and Cemani need a lot of work. The bad part I see about the Cemani is the small amount of eggs they lay a year. I see them more a novelty and that's it. You can't do much with just 60 eggs a year.
