    Not sure what I have.

Not sure of the breed maybe an ameraucana type breed for the blue since it has a pea comb, but the cheeks don't look puffy to me, and the other I would say wyandotte but the body feathers don't have the lacing I am used to. But I think they are both pullets based on age given.

    Introducing a rooster

I have a full sized and bantam rooster. From experience the bantam rooster attempts to mate the full size hens, but it's comical and I doubt successful from what I have seen. My full size unfortunately prefers my smallest hen who is a petite wyandotte. While she is not bantam, she is definitely...

Old hen - Any tips to keep them happy?

I am still fresh in my chicken keeping, so I haven't had the honor of caring for an aging hen yet. With that said, my completely inexperienced opinion is that if she wasn't a cuddler before then she probably isn't now either. I think sitting near her and spending time with her plus the sound of...

    Silkie questions from beginners

Any other new silkie owner with pictures of your tweenagers? I never know what to expect with the way these babies are feathering out. Some have more "traditional" like feathers on their wings, while others are much less structures and fur like.

Silver laced wyandotte rooster over Gold laced wyandotte hen

Thanks @NatJ I think they are beautiful birds individually, but wouldn't want to hatch out from them if their offspring will be muddy or less attractive. Honestly besides being attractive, they are my least favorite in the flock when it comes to temperament, so probably best anyway not to add...

Silver laced wyandotte rooster over Gold laced wyandotte hen

What would the chicks look like? Sorry genetics are not my thing. I have 1 Silver laced cockerel, 1 silver laced pullet and 2 gold laced hens who I am eventually going to house together, since they are not friendly to people or other chickens :hmm So am just wondering if it would be worth...

One on one all the time.

I'm thinking barred rock cockerel and a mille fleur duccle pullet. But I am definitely not 100% on either lol.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your baby. I know it meant a lot to you, to have a descendent of the hen you lost.
