Hello,
Any advice on how to move four ladies to our new place? Anything that will make it less stressful. New house is about an hour away and I want to make sure i transport them safely and I definitely don’t want to stress them out.
I have four and so t have contact with new chickens or plan on bringing any in. Birds are everywhere though, I can’t stop all birds from landing on my property or inside my run…this is so stressful
So far what I have read on here is making me so anxious. What can we do to prevent or help. Someone said they literally come and kill your flock…that makes me incredibly sad and scared.
She is out and about like nothing ever happened. Had loose stools white and greenish for half a day and then back to normal. It’s the strangest thing ever.
Everything looks normal. Comb looks red, feathers are normal her tale I did notice was down…and tonight she didn’t roost. I hope when I check on her in the morning she is ok.
Oh my goodness I hope I didn’t break an egg inside her 😞 it was warm water and I had a little cloth and a little brissel brush . No sign of mites or anything like that. Her vent was fine and I am just so afraid I made her stressed. I did this around 10 am and she was out and about through the...
Long story short…she had some wet poop on her butt. It had dried when I got to it the next day to remove it and clean it. I picked her up and she dislikes being touched …I held her and cleaned off the dry poop. Her vent looked fine…she sometimes gets poop on her fluffy behind. I noticed after I...
I am not sure if this is the place to post this but as of late I have been reading about the fungal infection growth in the U.S. and if I should be worried about coop dirt or my chickens getting sick? I like to move or dig dirt around for them to pick worms and maybe I’m nervous post Covid but...
Hello everyone,
I was looking up toxic plants and flowers to not plant this year in spring…I was shocked to find elephant ear plants as toxic since I have had them around the whole yard and my chickens never got into them. Any advice would be appreciated on if I should remove them and de root...
Hello,
It’s snowing outside and my ladies seem to want to be out in the snow. At what point is it too dangerous for them to be out and about in the snow? It’s 27 out.
Thank you everyone! I live next to the Delaware river and they seemed to be eating something in the field. Today is the first day I have not seen them. There are two and they sore and fly Together in the sky…it’s so amazingly beautiful. But I want to make sure my girls are safe. Thank you for...
I am used to battling hawks but this morning we were visited by two eagles. This is a new level of fear for me…my ladies are definitely not coming out of the run for a few days. Has anyone had to deal with eagles 🦅 stalking your flock?
