    Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Hi guys! I’m curious who here lives in unincorporated king county. I’m needing to move w my rooster and wondering where I can go aside from Everett (they allow Roos). I know of several families in White center with roosters. Is this because it’s not enforced in unincorporated areas? What are...

Neurotic hen— like we need advise lol

So I have a flock and we have been going through way too much drama lately. Not only do I have a young hen with cancer (thus tending to her and trying to keep the stress down) I have another hen that is being like over the top neurotic about digging. Sure all hens dig. Some dig more than...

    Thoughts on this poo?

That’s good to hear — I just have heard mentions of mareks and blah blah as a cause for the tumor. It won’t be confirmed unless a necropsy is done when she passes but I would assume I’d see my other flock members having issues after all these months. But then again my vet said that some live...

    Thoughts on this poo?

Thoughts on these poos? They look a bit abnormal to me. I have had a devastating scare with one of my very young hens (she has a cancerous mass in her abdomen) so now I am on edge with the rest of my flock. Everyone is acting perfectly healthy and this issue with my hen has been going on for a...

Need help identifying and treating worms in sick chicken!

Very helpful thanks! I have been giving probiotics that include oregano as well. my hen has been improving and finally eating again— though she is laying down and walking w her tail down this evening. Usually seems to be worse in the evenings (after eating more..?) this concerns me there is a...

Need help identifying and treating worms in sick chicken!

Ok good. I guess im paranoid about the squiggles now as they weren’t as prevalent before the worms… that I noticed I don’t remember if I mentioned I had a very ill hen. Steady decline and then stopped eating. Anyway after a week she is finally back to eating! I think bc of not eating she got...

Need help identifying and treating worms in sick chicken!

Can u let me kno If this poop looks normal about 5 days after deworming? I still see the weird little squiggly things but they are not moving. Are they still pushing parasites out this many days later?

    Rooster w cut back toe—help

My sweet boy Eggy somehow managed to cut his back toe this morning. I noticed he was holding his foot up a bit and then saw the cut w dried black blood. I washed it w warm water and a little dawn (it was sandy) and sprayed with vetericyn a few times today. I also attempted an epsom soak but it...

Hen Recovering from internal parasites— help :(

Poo doesn’t look great BUT it is solid for first time in a week so this is hopeful! She also made quite the fuss to come out for their supervised free range time today and she is very happy about it. Still a little weak — understandably but she seemingly is doing better than the last few days.

Hen Recovering from internal parasites— help :(

I will send a photo in a bit when I get back inside! It was the correct dosing I made sure it confirm this on multiple accounts 😂 and was recommended this method by a local silkie breeder. The packets come with 222 mg powder. Each hen is about 5 lbs with my heaviest at 6 lbs. they all got...

Hen Recovering from internal parasites— help :(

Actually sorry I just read more about the dangers of syringe feeding — I’m not looking to tube feed if not absolutely necessary as I’ve never done that. So I will change my original idea from syringe feeding to the “torpedo” method of feeding (usually crossbeaks/special needs or ill hens in my...

Hen Recovering from internal parasites— help :(

So I dosed her with about 120 mg if Safeguard (the dog powder so I could mix with some salmon mashed up). As of tonight the flock is finished with their 5 day dose. She has had diarrhea for a week. It’s more yellow now which I assume is because she is not eating much. This concerns me as I kno...

Hen Recovering from internal parasites— help :(

Thankyou si much for the reassurance and advise! I’m unfortunately in the states— and I just finished the last dose of dewormer thankfully. Now it’s just to get her back to eating. I’ve been giving her poultry cell vitamins (2-3 ml a day). I may need to syringe feed her some food at this point...
