Currently have chicks, and offering them grit just sprinkled on a piece of wood. Trying to figure out what type of small feeder would work best to keep it in and oyster shell when they are older. Show me all the ideas..lol
Picture of our chicks!
I am using a dog house as a brooder and the heat lamp from tractor supply is way to big to go inside. I found a 8.5 lamp and 100watt ceramic heater. Would that be enough for them?
I do have the dog house door blocked off for now to keep the heat in. Also I'm in NC if that helps any
I've removed...
This my coop and an idea on how we are gonna finish the roof. What we are trying to figure out is how high we should do the ventilation? And then what about keeping the weather out? Would a good overhang be good enough. If yoy have some pics as examples that would help too. Thank you
Also I'm in...
I'm going to have 6 chickens, so looking for the best feed system. Would love to see your set ups. Also about how much food do you think they would go through a month?
(Possibly getting 2 blue layers, 2 green layer, 2 polish)
They are just apart of the pallets we got and the wood was breaking when we tried to take some part. So that middle shelf part I thought about starting the roosting there. Thinking 3 roost bars. Nesting boxes will be at that far end of the coop on the inside gonna make boxes
Kinda just winging it as we go so no set design. Windows, I was thinking since it's not tall Windows would have the air flow on the chickens, and I'll have the 2 doors I can leave open when needed
I'm thinking 6 birds..dont have any yet, but thinking color egg layers, polish, maybe a brahma. Run is basically 3acres. This is what's done so far. It will have 2 doors on opposite sides that can be left open
