    2nd Generation

I wanted to share my expanding family... Blacky Tan and Chottu created Wadda. Wadda mated with Blomma and Sita. I wanted a hatch on Valentines' day (easy birthday to remember right!). I purchased assorted eggs from eBay, but they arrived earlier than expected, nad the hatch also effectively...

7 Eggs in the incubator due soon & my hen has gone broody now! Can I put those under her??

It's a conundrum for me!! Only 6 days left for my eggs in the incubator to hatch. And Snowy, one of my hens has gone broody. Wondering if I can put those eggs under her at this stage! Will she hormonally accept the newly hatched? OR Shall I wait till the eggs in the incubator hatch, and then...

Shifted the eggs and her to the new nest...

    Are my pullets underweight?

My 20-week-old Swedish Flower Hens weigh around 800 gms/1.76 lbs. This is my first time with this breed. I read the adult hens weigh around 5 1/2 lbs. Isn't this sort of time for these pullets to start laying soon? Are they underweight? They eat grower pellets, healthy protein-rich treats...

I guess my hen went fairy!!!

Victoria is a mature 2 year old and lays eggs regularly, around 4 to 5 times a week. Today she announced laying her egg... surprised to see an egg smaller than anything I've seen, and slightly more brown...was it her going fairy on me? Please shed light 🙏🏽 Thanks in advance.

I've become a chicken dad just 3 months ago. I am a keen newbie who has already benefitted from the forum posts here and now want to participate fully

In my early teens, back in Pakistan, we had chicken, but this time I have built a coop and have eight adults including a rooster and two rescue hens, five - three-month-old Swedish Flower Hen chicks, miraculous three; nearly month-old chicks via incubator, one little Sooty with her mamma Snowy...
