    CoopCrate?

I just signed up for CoopCrate and was wondering if anyone had used them before? I'm a little concerned that there is no "Log-in" to check order status, etc. But I'm excited to try it. I guess if it's a scam, I'll only be taken once and will dispute it with the credit card. But I'm eager to see...

Ended Guess When BYC Will Hit 27 Million Messages!

No. I'm good. It probably gets there sooner than my guess, but I don't have time to math right now because I am performing activities closely related: chickening!

Will a divided coop/run allow me to keep extra roosters?

That's what I'm worried about as well - the hearing part. But chickens have good hearing. They would have to be a long away apart to NOT hear each other. I'm not sure though. I haven't done it before.

Will a divided coop/run allow me to keep extra roosters?

So, we are toying with the idea of a bachelor pad, as well. From my understanding, this only works if the roos can't see the little princesses on the other side - or they will fight. I'm hoping someone else will weigh in on this. I know debate exists over bachelor pads and I would like to hear...

Mama leaving four week old chicks?

They have roosting rails in the pen. I thought that would be better since they were so small. Honestly, I didn't even realize they were 4 weeks old until I started writing this post.

Mama leaving four week old chicks?

Our 7 month old Australorp pullet, Angelina, hatched several eggs 4 weeks ago. She has been a sweet and dutiful mama, but seems to have lost interest in her chicks - and laid her first egg since being broody today. However, she doesn't watch out for them like she used to and seems to be...

    Prolapse vent sanity check

I found a hen in the run with a prolapse vent. I need a sanity check to make sure I've treated her appropriately. For reference, she is a 12 month old Amerecauna named Sweetie. I've done the following: Separated her Soaked her in an Epsom salt bath Pushed the prolapse back in Treated her with...

Sapphire Olive Eggers from Hoover's Hatchery

That one is so pretty! Ours were about 4 weeks old when we got them I think. So we never got to see their little chick phase. Sadly Every one of ours is also laying brown. 3 have tufts though

What are the rarest chicken breeds? Why are they rare?

Silver Bielefelders are pretty rare. They are rare because the silvers were often culled at birth until a new breed standard was set for them. Green fire is one of the only places you can get them.
