    ALABAMA!!

I don't know where that is, but there is a man just south of Huntsville....I want to say towards Arab maybe? That me and my husband met at a show recently that sells OEG bantams. He had all kinds that he was showing that day.

    No Eggs for a Week

The temps aren't super high during the day yet...I'd day average of 75 right now, it will get much hotter this summer though. My kiddos just thought they'd like to have a treat haha. No chance for hidden nests because I haven't let them free range much this past few weeks as I'm on bed rest and...

    No Eggs for a Week

Me and my kiddos have made them frozen treats this past week a couple times. As well as they have 2 different water containers. I will add electrolytes to one and see if that helps. These chickens have basically anything they could possibly need so I'm starting to think they are just...

    No Eggs for a Week

I'm starting to think someone's stealing my eggs😅

    No Eggs for a Week

Update: Still no eggs. Swapped them to a quality layer pellet, provide free choice oyster shells, scratch as treat only as recommended. Still moving their tractor every few days onto fresh grass. Always have fresh water. I guess now we continue to wait for these free loaders to decide they want...

    No Eggs for a Week

Good deal. I've got to do a feed run tomorrow anyways. Sorry I had this reply sitting for over an hour, we just finally got out from under a tornado warning. Town just west of me got leveled.

    No Eggs for a Week

Good to know. When I had chickens a decade ago they must have not cared because they laid consistently on whatever we fed....scrapes, scratch, layer pellet etc. I give 1/2 layer and 1/2 scratch because the old owner said that the rooster shouldn't have primarily layer feed. She's a vet so I...

    No Eggs for a Week

We traded for a trio of BCMs 3 weeks ago as I wanted to have some laying already while we wait on the rest of the pullets to start laying. Hens are both 2 years old....we were consistently getting 1 egg a day the first two weeks no issues, some days they'd lay on the same day and we'd get...

    Confident this is Cockerel

It's been years since I've tried to sex anything so I couldn't tell for sure.

    Confident this is Cockerel

Yay! My 2 year old will be so excited.

    Planning Ahead

Mind you my husband insisted it be done entirely of chicken wire(don't judge, I tried😅)We don't have any ground predators at this point and we also keep a nose level hot wire around the tractors when my children are not out playing as an extra protection since we never know if one day we will...

    Planning Ahead

The tractor we have set up for our adults birds has nesting boxes along the back with an egg door. They also have two roost areas. I will get pictures if you interested in seeing the set up. A tent might work as long as high winds or tornadoes didn't pop up

    Planning Ahead

I have tractors for my adults, so no large coop to partition off or anything unfortunately.

    Planning Ahead

Does anybody have success brooding outside between March and October when the temps are 45+ overnight? I'm needing outdoor brooder ideas badly for this Fall when I raise more. My husband and boys allergies were so bad while we had chicks in the house. Our house is small and really not set up for...

    Confident this is Cockerel

I really hope it's a pullet. She's one of the oldest I raised this year so she'd be one of the 1st to start laying. My 2 year old is obsessed with his "zebra" chicken😂

    Confident this is Cockerel

I swear this is the only one I've been confused on for weeks😂I ended up with tons of cockerels.....from an order I paid for sexed pullets😑 Like not kidding 15/25.

    Confident this is Cockerel

Just wanting someone else to confirm that this is a cockerel....14 weeks old. I've went back and forth on this one for a while because for a few weeks it did look like a pullet a couple times...but then tail started getting long😞

    Those Who Breed

That is the idea we are leaning towards too.
