We had to rescue our boy back from a bad situation and his legs were going pale as they had barely any grass, yellowing back up here after a couple of weeks at my son and daughter in laws living his best life now.
Ah ok. I knew the tails were
yes the mothers have tall tails but not seen it curve over and the feathers have pointed tips like these babies. Will keep an eye on saddle and hackle feathers to see what happens over the next couple of weeks.
Checked those and they are still rounded feathers. They have only just started their baby moult so just a little scruffy. Will keep an eye on those feathers too though. It’s the tail feathers that have changed so much 😟
Snapped a few. Still flushed but it’s hot here and they often look pinker instead of red until today. Will post a pic of what their brother was like before we rehomed him. Again different hen same roo father.
I posted recently about our leghorn Barnevelder cross chicks. they are now 11 weeks old. All this time the indicators have been that they are pullets. And they still have smaller combs and wattles that are still pink except when they were a little flushed here after I let them out for a forage...
