Weather is one of the factors...I don't remember if it is in hot weather or cold weather that you get more speckles. The white spots may just be extra calcium.

I think speckled eggs are neat, they aren't uncommon. Some suggest it has to do with how fast the egg turns in the oviduct, others contribute it to minerals, some suggest genetics plays a role, many have tried to figure it out just so they could get more speckled eggs!

I would guess that f1 is the temp it will come on at and f2 is the temperature it will go off at, or vice versa! Use the + or - to adjust those numbers...for example on when the temp goes below 90 and off when the temp reaches 95. The LED light most likely comes on when the thermostat calls for...
