    Death of duck suddenly?

He is unfortunately a solo duck right now...and clearly in mourning. I have no problem adopting an adult mate for him but want to make sure he is not 'sick' since I don't know what exactly happened to Suzie which is scary. Thank you for reaching out.

Baby goose piped and hasn’t done anything sense.

It's REALLY important to keep track of eggs when doing the incubator as far as EXACT DAYS. That is sad about the geese eggs. I'm doing chicks for very first.time[ day 19] and I've kept a diary...candle checked ect...I've seen movement so I am very hopeful in 2 days I will have baby chickies!

Thank you! (Love the pic) Yes...as beautiful as our property is, we learned the hard way and have made some serious more secure measures to our coop. As I said, they were free roaming, this did not happen "in the coop or run" BUT predators are out there and in my head I thought this would...

Egg Exploded but the Chick was Still Alive

I have to agree with "sourland"....I understand that kids are VERY excited BUT they should not be near the incubator where they can touch it.....espeically if they can have access to it while not suprvised. We (2 adutls) are so so careful as all is so fragile! Good luck on the hatching, keep us...
