    Injury or fowl pox?

What is this on my hens comb? There are several scabs and the holes, if a scab comes are pretty deep. She also has one on her waddle and had one on her ear but it's gone. Are these from getting pecked? Or should I be concerned about disease of some kind?

    Layer Feed too Early?

So, I started my hens on layer feed about 1 week ago thinking that I was supposed to start BEFORE they started laying. They are 18 weeks old and haven't started laying yet. I'm reading now that if they aren't laying they could be getting too much calcium from the feed. Should I put them back on...

    Moving chicks to coop

Got another question for you: tomorrow will be stormy all day and about 60 so I was just planning on leaving them in their coop instead of letting them out out in their run since they haven't learned to go up the ramp yet to get to safety. Thoughts?

    Moving chicks to coop

Hi all! New chicken mom here! My Buff Orpingtons are nearly 5 weeks old but already very feathered with just a little down on there heads. It's been in the 80s in the day time and they LOVE being outside. My question is, is it too cold for them to be in their coop(lots of deep wood chips and a...
