    It's 8ft x 10 ft, bigger than the omlet that's 6x9.

Looking for a large run that can be moved

https://www.greenwillowhomestead.com/mobile-chicken-tractor-build-plans.html I built this mega chicken tractor last summer and it has been great. It's definitely heavy but I can pull it around the yard on my own, or use a tractor if I have to move it a longer distance.

    Chickens moving “egg” HELP

I found a handy solution using hardware cloth, folded into a box shape to fit into my nest boxes... Doesn't totally eliminate the bedding scratching but helps :)

DIY Coop and Run -- Design Feedback

Good question, I don't know. The sealant definitely sounds like it'll help avoid vapors migrating into and through the wood, so maybe it'll be fine. Sounds well designed :)

DIY Coop and Run -- Design Feedback

I love that feed hopper! If it's humid in your area just beware that any moisture may accumulate and cause trouble in there... You may want to make sure that's not happening before loading up with $$$ of feed that could get moldy and spoiled all at once

What does a broody hen do with her chicks in the first week after they hatch?

They are the best. I'd never use "mother hen" as anything but a compliment now! Yeah I put a quail waterer and baby chick jar-type feeder in their space, my hen is small enough she can daintily use them. I just have to check often to make sure they haven't been knocked over.

What does a broody hen do with her chicks in the first week after they hatch?

Mine are silkies so they're teeny tiny, but yeah they can hop/flap to climb pretty good by a week, and yes the mama calls to them to follow her. You can always put a brick or something to make a smaller step to give them a little help. They don't weigh much so even a little pile of sticks can be...

    Lemon Owlbeard Eggs

Just hatched out some of these and I'm not sure I've ever seen anything cuter! And the care taken in shipping/packaging was beyond phenomenal. The chicks are very active and curious already (and loving the heat wave here I think). Highly recommend!

What does a broody hen do with her chicks in the first week after they hatch?

I agree with Evadig. I've got a broody right now with 3 day olds and she doesn't seem to want to move much at all, so I've got food and water within reach of her neck and the chicks are using her as a bed/tent/jungle gym. I'd make sure they can't wander too far from her and get "lost" or stuck...

    Worries about favorite hen

Add a silkie or two to the flock ;) mine have had baby fever all summer, and turned out to be amazing mothers to incubated chicks, even though they themselves were hand raised.

    Just Hatched!

Don't worry! It will give the one in the shell encouragement to keep working to get out. Totally normal. Sometimes the first one out even pecks at the pipped spot on the others, but I've never had any problems caused by it. Enjoy your new babies!

Having Fun with Periodic Cicadas as Supplemental Feed

They haven't emerged in my neck of the woods yet, but the past couple weeks my yard duck has started her day by snacking on the dozen or so June bugs that fall into her water pan overnight. I always hated those bugs but now I have a reason to appreciate them :)

    Silkie with crazy feathers

Frizzle on the log, prob a bit older than yours, for comparison.

    Silkie with crazy feathers

My frizzled silkies' feathers feel very soft not stiff, that is strange. Could it be a frazzle (both parents carried frizzle gene)? Some silkies do have a single comb, I think it's not to the standard but still cute imo ;)
