    More Mice😭

Rinnes trap flip and slide. I fight mice year round. No I don’t have a cat as a mouser simply because it’s gross and dangerous as to what disease that cat could pick up. The bucket trap works well. You can catch many mice at one time without having to reset. You can live catch and release...

Hen can’t lift neck after attacked by fox

Hello I literally watch my Orpington get attacked by Red tail hawk in front of me a few years back. I scooped her up and sat in a dark closet with her wrapped in a towel for about an hour after that I put her in a dog covered. Her head was out stretched ahead of her body. She would not pick...

    Toys and enrichment?

Hi Sounds like well cared for chickens! Appears a lot of effort has went into to making them content and happy.I would love to have a grassy grazing area but my chicken house is 10x26 with a solid shingled roof (matches our house) so it doesn’t get enough sun to grow anything. Yes we have an...

    Toys and enrichment?

This works great too especially if it is hung to swing. Their little heads bobbing for it 😂. I use cucumbers corn on the cob or stuff it with a chunk of lettuce or cabbage. It was designed for squirrels but it works great! You can easily get it a a hardware..feed store and inexpensive.

Please don’t call me nuts if it’s just WRONG LOL

Yes….they can and will cannibalize each other 😉 Truly ruthless. Have you noticed most feeding/watering containers have red on them….highly attracted to red 🩸. As far as feeding “dead wild critters “ to my chickens that’s a negative for me. Too much of a gamble of passing parasites/diseases...

    Orpington with bluish red comb

No squishy belly. I lost a Maggie to ascites about 8 months ago so I familiar with symptoms. Maggie walked likes cowboy from her belly being full. Millie is currently exhibiting only the comb discoloration. Could be early symptom of ascites unfortunately I know I can’t fix it☹️. I will post...

    Orpington with bluish red comb

I have a 6 year old Orpington hen. She still lays eggs. I noticed when she is let out to free range (spring 2024)her comb turns bluish red once she has been moving around a lot. Once she’s back in the hen house for a short time (maybe 15 minutes) it looks normal color (rosy red). I lost an...
