3 week old Easter egger Roo?

We got a few Easter egger pullets from TS about 3 weeks ago, and normally I would say that’s way too early to sex a chick but what do you guys think? This one’s comb and waddles are very bright, and it’s comb is pretty wide though very flat.

What is my Broad Breasted White Turkey sick with?

Interesting. I guess I was instructed wrong. Is that all acidified water or just certain acidifiers?

What is my Broad Breasted White Turkey sick with?

I will try to get a picture today. It could be that… it seems when I added acidifier, probiotics, and electrolytes to her water it helped her perk up.

What is my Broad Breasted White Turkey sick with?

My 6 week old WBT has been sick for a few days now. I have been trying to get her back on her feet and she is very resilient. Today when I let the birds out she was on her side, she lifted her head shakily and looked at me. I got her picked up and she stood in a corner. Her wings are droopy...

Straight Run Buff Orpingtons and Rhode Island Reds

That was where I stood on the matter as well, unfortunately that’s about two hens of each breed 😬 I suppose I may need to get more pullets… we’ll see. The Orpington make such good mothers!

    Howdy Y’all!

Haha we do!! But the plan is to just let them breed anyway, better to have more room than not enough!

Haha— well in my head 3.5 is a good way to say 3 with one in the oven 😄

Straight Run Buff Orpingtons and Rhode Island Reds

So, about 6 weeks ago we got 12 straight run chicks from Tractor Supply Co. We got 6 RIR and 6 Orpington. Now, I get the feeling I may only have about two hens of each kind 😅 I’ll share some pictures, and you guys can let me know what you think!

    Howdy Y’all!

Hey everyone! I’m new to BYC and I just wanted to introduce myself! I grew up having chickens and other livestock, but we’re finally getting around to getting some for ourselves. My husband and I, and our 3.5 kids have put together an impressive coop with 20 nesting boxes. At the moment we...

Are my 6 week old buff Orpington “pullets” actually pullets?

I’m going to have to say you had bad luck with this batch. All three seem to be cockerels to me. You can tell from relatively early on when their combs are dark pink and then start to turn red. I’ll try to post pictures of my buffs at 6 weeks, hen and roo
