I'm very sorry that your chicken "Tink" passed away! My baby chick that I had to help hatch was only 2 days old and it passed away this morning. I'm still very sad! ~Julie ( ')>
~HOW DEVASTATING TO WAKE UP AND FIND A DEAD CHICK!! I GUESS IT WASN'T MEANT TO BE? ~ I'm Not drama, but this really sucks!!! I found the chick in the EXACT same spot and same exact way I seen it last before I went to bed, who would have thought that it was already dead when I checked before I...
I didn't try putting the chick in a coffee mug.. maybe I should have? Don't know? I thought it just needed another day or two to get its strength since it had a little more of a stressful hatch? ` Over all i felt things were gonna go as normal for the chick. Thanks for your support, it help me a...
I have gotten the chick to drink a little water but hasn't ate any food yet. I almost thought it was getting too weak from not eating and drinking. When should the chick be eating and drinking?
Do you think it would really help? I don't see where it would hurt! Do you think it should be for a FULL Day or two? Or put the chick in the cup for small amounts of time then take it out for a while, then back in again ect... ? I'm thinking since its so young that being in the cup for 1 day...
No... its way too wobbly! it would get trampled on for sure. if it was walking normal like the other 5 out there, I would. Theres no way it would make it right now. Sometimes the hens start bickering with each other and their babies get caught in the middle but at lease they can move.
Do you think if I put a wash cloth in a coffee cup then sat the chick inside on top of the wash cloth it would help make the chick more stronger?.. not so wobbly? it seems like if it was confined to a Slightly snug area that it would get use to standing on its feet easier and it would have more...
When do I need to put food and water out for this new chick? its still not very stable. I dont think it would be able to eat and drink without falling in side the containers of food and water.
No theres 5 or 6 hens sitting together. They like to share. lol Most of them stay sitting the entire hatching time but some will come and go when they want then squeeze back in by the other hens to continue hatching. Then they steal each others eggs. Usually they have all the eggs covered. We...
ewww.. No I wont pick at it or touch it! I wasnt sure if id be able to help remove some shell and membrane. lol but it wasnt too bad. Ill. take a picture of that in a little bit.
oh ok Thank you.. I havent had my incubator out to use for about 3 years. lol kinda forgot the main important info. I almost tossed this egg yesterday thinking it was not any good, the hens had it out by the door a long with another empty half of an egg shell, so i scooped it up so ants...
sorry for the double pics posted. Does that look normal on the lower part of the stomach? And the chick is now moving around a lot more, it turned over and holds its head up.. Really alert.
