Hmmm... definitely a mystery then! I am not for sure about the comb type... his looks like my olive egger's comb... I think it's a single comb? But I could be wrong... if you google pics of combs, there are some good references on the internet. Maybe if you post his pic in the what breed or...
You don't say where the eggs came from exactly... are they from your hens? What breed of rooster do you have if so? If you got them from somebody else, it could be any number of things. Just remember that the genetics of the chick inside could have little to do with the appearance of the egg...
I'm a little behind on my reading... wow, so much going on! My condolences too to Farmer Johna's family... I am new to the breed, but I can definitely appreciate all he has done. A loss too with Christina retiring. Best wishes for your father TLS. If my girls EVER lay an egg (the EE pullet...
Thank you for making this thread... I wish I had found it sooner but it still would have been too late, we lost our Blue Ameracauna Grisabella on Sunday. She was 8 mos old and had been laying beautiful eggs. I think I just didn't know enough and she wasn't getting enough nutrition.
I GOT A SQUAT TODAY!!!!!!!!!!
I know I still have a while to wait for eggs, espescially as combs are still pretty pink, but I was so excited to see one of the girls squatting! They are about 4 1/2 mos. old and they are just SO beautiful... They have that green shine even when the sun isn't...

Gotta mention Barnevelders! Even though I am also in love with Orps (esp lavs) and Black Copper Marans and blue eggs, the Barnevelders are my first love! Gold double lacing is so classy!
She is only three and a half mos but is starting to show her double lacing!
I FINALLY have some good pics of my young ones! The stars aligned for decent weather, I had a camera with me, and they grew out of their latest awkward stage. They are about 3 1/2 mos old. Please let me know what you guys think
And a closer pic of Darcy...
