I have two White Leghorn/American Game cross roosters that are the most gentle roosters I've ever owned. I figured they'd really be flighty.

If these are in fact roosters, would they be worth keeping, or should I get rid of them?

Thank you so much. Im going to talk to them and see is they have pure stock or not. Its no big deal, but I just was curious if they could be roosters. Here is one more picture.

These three are so different than the others. My friends only have barred hens, and RIR roosters. Hopefully they will lay soon.

    Black Star Rooster-Solid Black

These are the "hens" I was talking about. The one picture is of one by itself, and the other is all three together drinking. What do you think? They have deep "voices" but no crow yet. The rest of the hens that i know are hens look just like the ones in 1newegg's photos.

    Black Star Rooster-Solid Black

I bought some black star hens from a good friend, that only has RIR Roosters and Barred Rock hens. 3 of the "hens" are getting longer tail feathers, saddle feathers, and have huge feet. They are all black with a little red on the neck and breast just like the other hens. Is this possible?

    Changing Roosters.

I purchased some Black Star and Barred Rock Hens about 2 weeks ago. They were running with a Barred Rock rooster. They are now running with my Black Sumatra rooster. How long will it take for my hens to start laying my roosters fertilized eggs? Any help will be appreciated!

    What Breed Are My Hens?

The lighter yellow hen has some barring throughout, and the darker one is more reddish with black tips on her tail. The black hens look like my sumatra rooster but are larger than him. They have black legs, and face and very small combs. One of the black hens has yellowish legs and brown/red...

This is probably a dumb question.

It all depends on the breed of chicken. Most can't fly but a few feet, but some like Black Sumatra and American Game, can fly several hundred yards or farther. Chickens will usually stay close to their "home" so they can roost in the same safe location. The coop they are in now is their...

When do I need to start trimming wings?

If they have all of their feathers, they can fly. I have had them fly out of a 6 foot enclosure as fledglings. The hen flew up and over the top and then her keets went right after her. Funny thing is they all flew back in the enclosure later that evening.

first time hatching ducks in incubator

its normal for the eggs to have no movement. As long as nothing changed from thusday, i.e temp, moisture, then the eggs should hatch just fine.

    New to Ducks

What I do with my ducklings is take an old one gallon milk jug, cut a hole in it, a few inches from the bottom, that they can only get their head and neck into. This eliminates them playing in the water and only use it to drink. The water inside the jug will still get messy due to their eating...
