I had to add a light over the water in the coop last winter if the temp was around 0 for a couple days. I will have 10 more chickens this winter in hopes the extra body keeps me from running a heat source.
A number of years ago some kids got in trouble for taking out a bunch of mailboxes. I can't remember how it played out but I remember they were scared of losing there 2nd amendment rights because of a felnoy and I know they got an obscene amount of community service.
They are setting up to do some farm work in my field and I have 34 chickens out. My border collie Ellie is amazing, she got them all in from several locations in a couple minutes. She listens so well now it is almost like she uses her eyes, ears and nose as well as mine. She is so gentile...
I so feel your pain on shipped eggs. It is so hot all over the states right now that is why I think my 1st set was a huge success and my second set was a disaster. Also quail eggs on eBay price dropped by half buyers must know something I do not or everyone just get there's already?

I really wanted eggs from this seller on eBay, but it just is not going to work out. I understand shipped eggs are a gamble. Do you think I handle the situation properly?
8 of 40 quail hatched. The cat got 4 and 2 others died (hatched after cat was there) I have my doubts on the 2 left. I contacted the EBay seller. Letting them know I understand all the variables in incubation and the seller can not be responsible for the hatch, but let them know I think the...
Freeze food, treats, table scrap..etc. in a coffee can or ice cream pail. I fill the pail with "chicken slop" then with water and freeze it. Throw the whole block in there run.
:thumbsup
