ok. Mine have never hatched like that. That's why I'm wondering. Maybe they didn't uncurl correctly or something because I helped it and it didn't need to push out of the shell?
I have a chick that I just helped out of the egg, and now I just realized that it's toes on the outside of it's feet are curled under the rest of the foot. Here's a few pictures.
I don't know if they will fix themselves or not, but the chick is only a few hours old.
Don't quote me on that lol. Wasn't that much, but enough to where the snow went almost up to your knee...So I guess I sorta exaggerated...What can I say, that was like two years ago...
Yeah I'm in the northern part of Wisconsin. I doubt anyone would know the town though. Really small, plus I don't feel comfortable putting it out on the internet...
I've never gotten frostbite before. Not even when it was -45 below (fahrenheit) with like 7 feet of snow and school still wasn't called off...My school never gives us snow days....Thank god I'm home schooled now lol.
Wow, I feel bad for all the people who are getting such hot weather. It's only 75 degrees right now where I'm at and the highs for the rest of the week are all in the mid to upper 70's.....It got to about 82 degrees here today and I thought I was gunna die...But then again I do go out in a...
I know. I guess it just sort of startled me that it had internally pipped so early. And like I said before, this is only my second time hatching in an incubator, so I haven't had very many chicks hatch yet, and last time they all internally pipped on late day 19/day 20 and hatched day 20 and...
Thanks. I like silkies and cochin bantams too. And like I said, I knew bantams tend to hatch early, but I just wasn't expecting this early. Plus that same little egg has been worrying me over it's air cell for the past two weeks! And I guess the fact that it's internally pipped already has me...
No, that is the only egg from that hen I have in there. I have three other cochin bantam eggs in there, but they are from a different mother. The eggs are also slightly bigger. Plus I also have 2 mixed breed LF eggs in there(not sure of parentage, I have a lot of hens that lay light brown...
Sorry the pics were so bad..I tried to get one while candling, but it didn't turn out well by myself. I had to hold the egg, hold the flashlight against the egg, and then take a picture with my phone...so yeah
Hi. I have 6 eggs in my brinsea mini eco, and today is day 18(day 16 for one egg but that's a different story). I was going around and marking the air cells for the last time, when I noticed that the little cochin bantam egg that has a small air cell(I don't know why, all the others air cells...
I don't think I can post a vid....I don't have a YouTube channel and my wifi and been really bad, especially when it comes to YouTube. My mom just checked on it and says that it's not panting. It's still breathing a bit heavy but not bad. I hope it's ok.
