Our hatched chicks that are 3 and 4 days old got moved outside into their dog kennel brooder in the run with a heat pad cave. Everyone is doing well and wing feathers are developing fast.

@Sally Sunshine - hatch update. Lockdown today, having a bad run and only 13 into lockdown out of 46. Had incubator spike early. Pretty disheartening, not sure how or if any will hatch as 6 Of those I cant even see into, they are OE and Wellies.

That is kinda what I was wondering if it was bacteria, anyway, don't think it's going into lockdown.

It's just a dark mass I have not seen any movement in the egg, tomorrow is lockdown. yes it is a porous egg.

Ok thanks for responding and trying, off to read the links. I am assuming the egg isn't good at this point but wasn't sure what exactly the deal was.
