I was homeschooled through most of my academic life - Grade 3 through to Grade 12 (Senior Year) Mum and Dad wanted to give it a go, and so did we. We are a very self sufficient family, and so homeschooling is really just another notch in the belt of that for us. In AUS the state basically 'owns'...
Hey all! Progress pics!! They're just on 2 weeks or so now give or take a day or so for the later hatched ones.
I'm going to guess that if they're the type to tell by feather mutations that I either have 1 cockerel and 4 pullets, or 1 pullet and 4 cockerels. Hoping for the prior!
Not sure what that is haha, It's a brooder on sticks that stays at around 20-30watts so it doesn't get too hot but if it's too close to them and for a long period I reckon it could burn. I just have to raise it on its little stick things every couple of days as they grow
Going to move them...
Okay cool, I'll do it when I do my daily water change for them in the morning, They kick so much crap into the water in such a short time!! Cute little scratching!
Not intensionally! If you put your hand in there they all come rushing out from under the brooder plate to either peck at my rings...
Thank you Sally, I just read through that :) I don't think I have any probiotics but I could put ACV in their water if that is okay? Or only if they have a hen?
It is the one that had that unabsorbed yolk. It still has a tiny little bubble on it from that so I'm hoping it falls off but I am...
Oh that's a smart idea, haha. I'm a telecommunications support engineer, so I have heaps of those laying around! I'll do it tomorrow.
Been a long day for me in Melbourne, was galavanting with my girlfriend around the city. Tomorrow I'm going to need to tend to all my feathered friends though...
Hehe, It's all very complicated, I know!
That's actually a great idea! I will have to find some proper leg rings though. I think it has to grow with the bird or something.
Chicks are all doing very well, Had one with a bit of a pasty bum, but I washed it all up so hopefully it will be fine.
I'm guessing that I might have two Roos and three hens though out of all of them or maybe the other way around?
Don't know whether their breed is sex linked, but there are...
At the moment, All I have is 5 Isa Browns, and the Sussex Roo. Hoping to add more of my fav breeds. I miss having a nice bunch, used to have EE, and some nice RIR. Even some Polish.
I really want to get a nice Sussex hen for him! I wasn't even sure he would be able to breed successfully with my hens because he is a BIG boy. But it seems he was very diligent and got the job done otherwise I wouldn't have 5 little cuties with me.
I love buff chooks! Hoping to get my hands...
