48 hrs from internal pip? That's not overly long for Calls... my last batch was 24/28 and took 3, or was it 4?, very long and exhausting days, lol...
As long as it keeps showing improvement, then that is good... :)
I think the colloidal will work, but I'm no expert about it and animals... I would try a drop along the side of bill and see if it will take it... if not, don't force and wait til it gets active...
It looks a bit swollen to me... do you have any antiseptic? Ointment w/out pain reliever or clear iodine, something similar? I would dab a bit on, to be safe... see if you can give it a dribble of water, they dehydrate quicker than chicks... in the brooder now or still in the bator?
Biggest...
Sorry, I was out sick and didn't see the tags in time... I have never given Corid to any of my Calls, even my fave duck who took 3 days to hatch, lol... what I do if I'm worried about them being weak is give them some nutridrench poultry vitamins... straight drops right on the bill, then a bit...
And if there aren't worms in the soil you shouldn't have a worry, but if they show up then they're there and can return... my area is very wet, so I run maintenance deworming 2x a year along with external bug treatment...
That'll be the next thing I try come spring hatching time... this last set is the last I will do of ducks for now... overrun already, lol...
Cabinets are what I hear about... but I don't have a still air anymore so can't try that...
Thank you for the vote of confidence... :)
I have my share of failures too, it is a harsh teacher but the lessons are unforgettable ... mostly I have been lucky to have a great mentor who puts up with all my questions, lol... :D
I've never used still air for ducks, but holler after the eggs show up... if the air cells are good, you can lay them down as that is best for them, but damaged air cells need major TLC...
Tag me or PM me, I can't keep up with this thread, lol...
Yeah, I wouldn't sleep either... :/
I know predators gotta eat, but I wish they would find their food elsewhere... owls are our biggest issue here... we have a huge pack of coyotes running nearby, but our neighbors dog keeps them off our whole hill, thankfully... haven't had bobcats in the area...
