Soooo, I just swore that I was done hatching for the year. THEN, my new friend asked if I could hatch out some duck eggs for her since the incubator would be idle otherwise. Of course I said yes....but I have never done ducks. Are they hard? I don't even know the breed, they are large and white...
Looks like it will be just the two ayam cemani. Today is day 21, but the other eggs have no pips or chirping. I will leave them in since it can't hurt.
I have 2 cemani chicks out at day 20. The rest are driving me crazy. I can't see any pips, but I don't want to open the incubator and mess up the humidity. Hatching is fun, but stressful!
So I need some advice. I set my cemani eggs on the 10th. They are all developing well. On the 15th I got gifted some gorgeous old English game bantams. Both breeds hatch early, but they are 5 days apart. Will this be difficult for lockdown and hatching? I dont have a separate hatcher....
@bauerdog
AWESOME!!!! welcome back!! I wish you tons of luck with those babies!!!! Whatcha been up to?
I have been checking in, but until now, nothing exciting to report. I actually won the ayam cemani eggs in a different thread on here. Twice! I have another 6+ shipping out on Saturday...
Ok. So I have 21 chicks out. I think two are DIS, but one egg has an internal pip. I can hear it chirping but no external pip. The first chick was out at 6 am yesterday...do I do anything yet?
I have got Isabel leghorns, rosecomb white leghorns, project blue duckwing leghorns, crested cream legbars, BBS copper marans, and silkies. 24 eggs in lockdown!
