There have been 19,403 posts on this thread since my last visit here. Haha. I hope everyone is well. I'm waiting for coffee to brew so thought of y'all.
I threw a dozen EE eggs in the bator. I'm going to sell them all. I'll set more in a few weeks.

Ice, kosher or other large grain edible salt, swish around decanter, add a little water, swish, keep doing that until the film is gone. Vinegar works well to, so you can keep doing that too.
Good morning.
Good news: I candled last night and I have 4 CCL mixes and 3 BCM mixes from my flock developing. The roos are a non-standard Wheaten Ameraucana (cream in hackles) and an imperfect Cream Brabanter (gold in hackles). I'm excited to see what comes out of them. EE/OE possibly

Morning. Fighting another round of viral illnesses in our house. Sorted eggs yesterday. Only 1 left out of 33 that were sent from TX. No more buying shipped eggs from TX for me. While they have a variety of birds thanks to their climate, the USPS trip between there and here has killed too many...

Update:
PRI 2.0 running well. 13 mixed breed eggs with questionable fertility in there due 4/9. Setting 12 Cream Brabanter in tomorrow morning.
MacGyverbator holding 5 Cream Brabanter due 4/1. The other 10 were tossed on Day 8 due to blood rings and no development.
MacGyverbator...
I thought I'd hate that too, but I tried keeping water near the maker and realized that I end up rinsing out the carafe and coffee grounds holders daily anyway so I might as well just grab water then instead of storing water on the counter.
I understand. My duck plan is pretty weak. I have two little pond liner things that I'd have to put in the ground somewhere and build a coop/run around that area. We free range right now but I'd have to consider fencing I guess.
I'm usually a fan of yellow fluff, but the Cayugas are adorable. I'll probably use a hatchery if I can't find a good breeder.
When will you be getting some eggs in your incubator?
I recommend the Hamilton Beach http://www.amazon.com/Hamilton-Beach-Single-Coffee-49980A/dp/B00EI7DPPI My only recommendation is that for strong coffee the carafe is best and for single serve I recommend using less water. I enjoy that we can brew a pot daily but when it runs out just grab a cup.
Yay, Banti! What kind of ducks? I'm sure some ducks will at least pass through my farm this year.
MC, how do you thicken your coffee? Haha. I always drink mine with a packet of hot chocolate. We double the amount of coffee grounds recommended for our coffee. The stronger the better. Luckily DH...

Candled tonight. Day 8. I tossed 10/15. 5 clear with rolling air cells, 5 blood rings. 5 are still cooking in the MacGyverbator. Each looks okay but I know it's an uphill battle I face with shipped eggs.
I got the Pleasant Row Incubator 2.0 (the new fridge incubator will be...
