Sheesh, with these rain storms, maybe it's just as well that I had to bow out... After running the dehumidifier for four hours straight, the humidity in the house is all the way down to 66%! It started out at 80%...
I'm going to have to bow out. I promised myself and my husband that I'd only hatch when my regular broody gets broody, and it's safe to say that, at this point, she's not going to go broody in time for eggs to arrive in time to be set even for the latest official set time, Monday.
There were emu eggs at our feedstore when I went earlier this week. Just as well that we don't have anywhere near the room for emus--doubt I'd get one of those gorgeous eggs to fit in my incubator :gig
Could someone please pop over to https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/1080316/probe-hygrometer-recommedations#post_16509406 and give me an opinion? Thanks!
Good to know.
I had the same hygrometer you had for the hatch last fall, but the first chick kept flipping it over and/or sitting on it, so I couldn't exactly tell what the humidity was :gig Even before that, though, I had a hard time positioning it so I could read it--you may remember how full...
My hygrometer came!
The probe is too big for the ventilation holes :wah
Does anyone know if Incubator Warehouse is good about returns? Also, does anyone have any recommendations for a hygrometer with a probe that will fit through a pencil-sized hole?
Reasonable thinking is the only reason I don't have muscovies *sigh* Zoning + RT is why I can't succumb to the lure of Calls... Still trying to figure out if I have anywhere reasonable to keep Cots.
You wouldn't.
Please don't.
You know why I can't have them (certainly you've read me talking myself down...)
Besides, you'd have to read the panic when there aren't any signs of pips when everyone else has hatched (I can dream, can't I?) :gig
Y'know, *she said thoughtfully* since the times for the random posts were already chosen, 'twould be quite funny if all three signs ended up going to people who don't really care. Or all to the same person. Or all three to the same person who doesn't care...
