Keep trying! Learn from this hatch and the next hatch and the one after that... Start a logbook so you can look back on your hatches and see how they were different. You'll get better!
23 in the brooder. Of the 13 shipped eggs, 9 made it to lockdown, all 9 hatched, wonky air cells and all. 14 from my birds hatched, 2 assisted and in the incubator, 1 died in the shell. From what I could see, it absorbed everything and was trying to get out, but it was too big for it's shell...
Probably just still weak. Had one hatch out that I thought had splayed legs 2 weeks ago, couldn't get her legs under her, she figured it out after about 4 hours and has been fine ever since.
Day 19 for me and my thermostat starts acting wonky, causing my light bulb to buzz... Can't not touch. I'm anxious for hatching and I have to stay close to the coolerbator.
Sponges are great
Lockdown should start on day 18, so thursday afternoon? Raise humidity to 60-65%. Is there a hole in your incubator where you can add water to a reservoir? If not, do you have room for a dish and/or a sponge to help keep humidity up?
Day 14:
9 of 13 shipped eggs good, 2 blood rings, 2 clears.
17 of 17 from my flock good so far.
I've tossed the blood rings, but I'm holding on to the clears till the last minute, and definitely keeping my nose on alert.
I candled today 2/30 clear, 28 good. This one has me worried, the little embryo is swimming around, but then I turned it to the side...
Should I be worried? Is this the beginning of a blood ring?
