Had 12 Mille Fleur Eggs set, 10/12 made it to lockdown, 9/10 hatched and all had curled toes but all got special braces and are running around. I also put 4 eggs in from a friend, 3/4 made it to lockdown, 2/3 have hatched today. The third hasn't even pipped yet, Hpoing it does. Here's a pic of...
So sorry the mare didn't make it. That's really saddening. But at least she was able to give birth and leave her baby alive and healthy in the hands of a caring person.
When my incubator did this I put it on my bed and wrapped blankets all around it, under it and everything. Power came back on two hours later and chicks were fine, temp only went down to 85!
I have a special assist chick. It couldn't do anything for hours and got weaker the longer the time, so I helped it out. I have no idea what to do next, it's been in there for 24 hours now. It is a little bloody.
His pip is the one on the left:
What I did:
I've never been able to understand abuse. She bought them, they were her responsibility. That is so horrible. The saddest part is that it happens all the time.
My Ayam Cemani do not count for this hatch, but I wanted to share! I have 6/12 ready to hatch today! After candling, I know all 6 have beaks in air cells, and one has popped already! I can't wait!

Now:
All my eggs hatch at different dates. I need to put my Ayam Cemanis in lockdown today, but I'm not sure if I should shut off the auto turner and hand turn the other eggs, or fire up the farm innovators incubator for lockdown. What do you all think? My luck with the farm innovators just hasn't...
I've noticed my IncuView isn't turning my eggs over all the way, and it looks like a few of the yolks are stuck to the side in one spot. Any way to fix this? It's on full turning, just not flipping them over.
My candling results so far!
My Ayam Cemani eggs don't count, but are on day 11 now. 6/11 are alive. They were shipped really roughly from Idaho to California.
My Mille Fleur eggs are in for HAL, day 9, I just candled them and only two were clears! 10/12 are alive! Shipped all the way from...
Are they free range or locked up? If they are locked up, do they have an area they can dust bathe? I had mites only once. And that was when I don't have a dust bathing area. I put a plastic tub in with sand and dirt mix for them.
Tub is cut like in the pic. I also used a spare one inch pvc pipe...
@Sally Sunshine I have hatching eggs, but they are mixed. Possibly I could separate the hen and Roo to only get Rhode Island Reds? I might be able to do a hatching egg gift for HAL, we will see what I can do. I will separate them this week if I can.
Edit: Wrong thread!
