My brinsea 20 advance is Awesome. It is a set it and forget it. Just need to check humidity twice daily during hatch. Temp is rock solid, doesn't fluctuate at all.
This was the best way to corral all 19 babies: 2 silkies, 1 showgirl, 2 CCL, 4 BBS Copper Marans, and the rest are various leghorn varieties. I am completely addicted!
My hatch is all wrapped up. 19 eggs (out of 33 shipped) went into lockdown. And I have 19 beautiful chicks. The last one needed a bit of assistance and is still drying off in the incubator. Everybody else is in the broader and doing great! Glamour shots tomorrow after the latecomer has a chance...
Candled tonight, 19 out of 33 shipped eggs are doing great. The rest were clears. I had set one Marans upside down, hopefully that one has enough time to get into the correct position before hatch day in a week.
I did my 7 day candle today. At last 14 out of 33 are developing well. Can't see into the 4 BBS Copper Marans. So hopefully more. I think it is a good start. I have least 2 to 3 of each variety going strong. Except for the barred rocks, oh well. I will candle in a few days.
You don't need to shell out a ton. Just buy Donna's SBEL eggs. The pullet I kept from last year's hatch lays at least 21 days in a row before taking a day off. Powerhouse large blue egg layers!
I set my eggs, 33 total. Paint Silkie/showgirls, CCL, Sapphires, White leghorns, Isabelle leghorns, project blue duckwing leghorn, BBS Barred Rocks and BBS Copper Marans.
I haven't told the hubby either! What he doesn't know won't hurt him, right? The current batch in the bator will just take a really long time to hatch . He never remembers the details. I may just get away with this!
