Anyone want to PM me and help troubleshoot what went wrong with my hatch? Don't want to make the same mistakes again. Getting more eggs tomorrow and I'm super nervous!
Also, what are your best bator cleaning tips? Thanks!
Checked two really quickly. One is just a full egg. Can see feathers but no movement. The other one was the Silkie. Air sac still fairly large. It's little toes were curled up and it was taking up most of the egg. No movement in it either. Now I'm even more worried! Lol @TJORDAN
For everyone saying they have internal pips, how do you know without candleing?
Also, I had a Silkie with a too large Air sac on day 18. I have the humidity at 70. Wondering if that is high enough.
My eggs aren't moving or doing anything. I know it's only day 19 but I'm nervous!!!!!
Well.....first hatch not going well. I put 5 into lockdown. 3 are viable, 2 are questionable.
Lots of blood rings and deaths around the 10 day mark.
I am really sad! Almost makes me not want to incubate again :(
I am getting so nervous about lockdown. I have some eggs that I can see the chicks moving and growing really well, but there are others I am totally unsure about. What do I do with them?! I won't candle again until tomorrow before I put them in, but I don't know if they should go in or not?!
Well. I've come to an all time low...or high...however you want to look at it. I'm on the way home and stopped to pick up three chicks. Boyfriend wanted to eat at Cracker Barrel and its 31 degrees outside. Who wants to guess where the chicks are?
Ok so I'm getting anxious about lockdown on Wednesday. I've been dry incubating. Humidity has been running about 25-30. Air cells are great. I have several different breeds in the bator. My plan is to take out the turner and put them in three separate egg crates. Thoughts? How high should I go...
What's a termtra tint? Pictures?
I think they come from leghorns? It's just a small little chicken. Egg laying machine though! This is the only pic I have.
Day 14 candle. Two blood rings, and one that looks like it made it to about day 5-7. Tiny little guy (it was the egg that has had some funky development all along) :(. So I'm down one Silkie and two Tetra Tint. Down to 13. The rest look pretty good. A couple are questionable...
Looked at the egg again today and it has a moving chick inside! Yay! The air cell looks larger than some of the others, and it appears to have more space at the bottom than the rest, but chick is alive. Hope it does ok. Not sure why it's development is looking so funky.
