They are autosexing. I mostly started with birds purchased locally, though I did get 2 females from a hatchery. I'm honestly not sure which birds were hatched here and which birds were bought, they all look the same! They are very big, but are not show quality by any means. Most of them are...
Hello all. I'm obviously not new to this site (or this thread if you've read back a few hundred pages ), but I have been gone for quite a long time. I probably won't be around much, but am available by PM that is sent to my email. Currently, I raise mostly ducks and geese. We've had terrible...

I tried to have a chickenstock/meet-and-greet here last year, but only one person from BYC showed up (and she's here quite often). Since I'll be moving, I won't be doing them anymore, but maybe someone else will hold one at their place
Mr. Ree :
Cane Valley isnt in Columbia, its outside of city limits.
~Casey
True, but if you were to look online for post offices in Columbia, Cane Valley and the one you're thinking of would both pop up
Mr. Ree :
There is only one PO in Columbia right? Down from the square, across from Phil Aarons office?
~Casey
Technically 2, on going towards Wal-mart (I believe it is 61?--probably the one you're thinking of) and one on north 55 towards C-ville in Cane Valley. I've never used that one.
I ship through Columbia all the time, though nothing ever gets to its destination sooner than 2nd-day. One thing you might want to consider is destination. Columbia mail goes through Louisville, Liberty goes through Lexington. So if your boxes are going east, it might be better for you to use...
Mr. Ree :
I believe its called the Sano Goat Auction, not sure. I live 5 minsutes from there and still couldnt tell ya, lol.
On another note, I have a question. Is there anyone near me (Russell Springs) that has shipped birds recently and if so where did they ship them from? I know there is...

I have a hen who has 15 week-old babies right now, so it is not unusual. I usually have at least one hen a year hatch babies in the winter, but the majority do so in the warmer months.

I like it! Would it be a part of this thread or a sticky under the section? Maybe an external page?
I believe there is a map like that for the forum but I don't know where the thread is.
I still have several chickens available: Bantam cochins, OEGB, Marans, Lakenvelders, OEG LF, mixed-breeds. All the Seramas and Silkies are sold. I also have 5 pekin ducks (1 male, 4 females), 8 Embden geese (should be 4 males/4 females), and 11 Birmingham roller pigeons.

That seems awful high to me. I pay $17 for 40lbs.
Where do you buy yours for $17 and is it food grade?
Probably not, food grade usually is pretty high.
Still have 11 geese, 13 ducks, 12 pigeons, 14 doves, numerous chickens, and 1 buck rabbit available if anyone is interested. Chicken breeds are BCM, OEGB, cochins, silkies, BR, Golden lakenvelder, and some oddballs.
