I had to work a side job after working from home for my day job. I made it back home after 7:30pm, but DW had smothered pork chops and rice ready for me. :ya I snuck a bit of chipotle chili flakes on it, but I solid dinner that is share to stick to my ribs.

I decided rather last minute to take the family out for pizza and ice cream for Valentine's Day. DW thawed pork steaks, so they are in the fridge for tomorrow.

Tonight we were invited to my sister's house. Watched the game, was disappointed with the halftime show and made fajitas with my BIL for dinner on the flattop grill outside on less than 20 degree weather. Had a good time all in all though.

Well, we stay budget friendly and made chedar brats and kraut with leftover ravioli from yesterday. We are going to go out for drinks and some fun at a beercade (arcade bar) not far from us. So we will spend a little money on drinks, but it's important to treat ourselves when the kids are away...

Just me and DW tonight again. Kids are at the grandparents. Would like to go out, but just spent over $500 today between eating out for breakfast, the feed store and paying a fee for processing our home refi. Brutal to see money disappear so fast. I think we'll be eating in. Probably cooking...

Made turkey breast nuggets with chickpeas on the side. Three nuggets were a hit, and easy enough as I just made cutlets out of a turkey breast and breaded and fried them. 1 breast turned into a basket of nuggets for us to share and still have leftovers for the kids to have for lunch tomorrow.

I must say I outdid myself after a full day of office work. Dinner was absolutely delicious. The duck was delicious. I quartered it, dredged each quarter in four flour and shallow fried just to brown and crisp the skin nicely. Then I removed the meat and drained the grease. In the same skillet...

Cooking the duck today that we thawed yesterday. I think I'm going to quarter it, dredge and pan fry the pieces for a nice crispy skin and then bake it in the oven to cook through. We have some cabbage leftover (cooked and raw) and some 1/2lb of carrot that needs to be used up so I'll figure out...

Well the duck ended up in the fridge rather than the oven because my sister invited us over for dinner. She and my BIL made burgers and fries. No homemade brioche buns though.
