One of my lil' Fawn & White runners just hatched :)

Just started day 28 with my 6 Fawn and White Indian Runners! Lots of rocking and chirping, so hopefully a few will pip overnight.

Indian Runner eggs only have 12 more days to go :) I was planning on setting 10 Welsh Harlequin eggs last night, but that has been delayed- I discovered to my horror that 5 of them had been made into egg sandwiches :( I'm going to have to wait for a few more to be laid.

Most the time the chick/duckling needs help hatching and pips in the narrow end of the egg. This has happened to me before- I had a Cream Legbar cockerel pip at the narrow end, but managed to hatch by its self. I would keep an eye on it.

Just had an impulse buy on eBay.... 6 Fawn & White Indian Runner hatching eggs!!! They will be set 28th/29th September, so they are due to hatch a couple of days before Halloween.

Just wondering- do the eggs have to hatch in October or can they be incubating during October? I'm trying to decide wether to buy some Indian Runner/ Miniture Silver Appleyards/ Buff Orpington duck hatching eggs or wait a week or two for my Welsh Harlequins (currently 19 weeks old) to start laying.
