Guineas are so pretty!! I would love to have a few when we have more land! My dad doesn’t seem to be too interested in my mom’s chickens, but loves to watch the birds that come to the feeder, too. I think my husband only likes the look of chickens, because he doesn’t like chicken meat or eggs...

I’m born and raised (literally own the house I grew up in, three blocks from the house my husband grew up in), and I still find it too hot in the summer! We are planning for land up north a bit. I know we are going to use fans, an evaporative cooler, large ice blocks in their water, and my...

You have a proper farm! :-D I want alpacas! She was an indoor cat, but my husband is allergic, and she was attacking our toddler son, and became very nasty towards other houseguests also. It was a tough decision to transition her to outside. :’( And of course I feel extra terrible about it...

We like it, but definitely want a larger property in the future, a little more out of town. And thanks - it was a shock and a freak incident. We don’t often see strays in our neighborhood.

We are getting 5 Australorps (blues and blacks!). We have two dogs, a blue heeler and a Staffie mix, and some fishes. My cat died last week - two loose dogs caught her and tore her in half and tried to eat her :hitI’ve had other birds in the past, and my mother had chickens, but I’m very...

We are waiting for 5 Australorp chicks (blacks and blues!) to hatch from a member here! Brooder is nearly set up, husband is working on the coop and run, and I’m soaking up all the info my feeble brain can handle! So, a little of both, I suppose!

I just finished the first book, and we started the first season as well. Hubs is annoyed at my, “That’s not how that happened” attitude
