The rabbits insulate the nests with their fur and the mothers usually do not sit on the kits like a hen would. Pretty sure they only go to the nest to feed them because they do not want to attract predators. I just checked Louisville craigslist and there are several breeders but I don't know if...

If you know where the nest is you could put it back as long as you can keep the dog away...

I wonder if you could take it to a local rabbit breeder and it could nurse off a doe with kits?
