I've done pretty much all I can to keep them out. I've complained, but these are the same people that wouldn't do anything about their roaming dogs until several people (myself included) threatened to shoot the dogs. Animal control refused to do anything about them. The only good they've done is...
Well, one of my worst nightmares came true yesterday. One of the neighbors' hens was in the yard again and she was sneezing, had discharge from her nose, and her eyes were swollen. I finally got my hands on her this morning and tossed her (gently) back over the fence. I may have gone a little...
Baby enjoyed the camera a little too much.
And I found this beauty while chasing one of my house cats down. I'm not sure about the exact species, but I do know she's some kind of Emperor Moth.
I have to feed them in the second run that the coop's attached to, to get them to go to bed. Some of them are perfectly fine going to bed when the pigs do but the rest expect their bedtime snack. I've created little monsters.
Geeze, I'm glad you don't have to pay for that. That's insane! Here I...
So far it's just the one, but I have no doubt there are more. I agree about invasive species, though. Especially plants. Chinese and Japanese Privit are awful.
I caught one of the opossums last night. Dispatching it was a kindness. I really do not understand how it survived as long as it did. It was deaf, blind, and malformed. It was so dehydrated it didn't bleed when I shot it. Quality of life was non-existent for it.
Very stressful. Especially the coyote. Cat food is absolutely the next thing I'm trying. I forgot to bait it again and I'm not going outside again tonight. I'm probably going to have to resort to using traps for the coyote since I can't stay awake all night and shoot it.
:barnie I have a coyote, a raccoon, AND an opossum problem. All at once. It's driving me crazy. The raccoon tried to eat poor Fritz (Junebug's pet turtle) the other night and it keeps stealing all of Gimpy Chicken's eggs. I baited a trap with eggs and marshmallows, but I'm going to need to...
Too bad my phone is still acting up and I'm too lazy to set up my junky computer. We expanded the pig pen/ old chicken pen to include the area where my rabbit cages are. The pigs are thrilled and was able to do a test run on how the pigs would react to chickens. Needless to say, they aren't...
Dad is excited. After all the problems I had with Sunshine and the incubator 11 chicks hatched (not including the one that died overnight last night or the one that's alive but still hasn't pipped). One has a minor case of wry neck that's slowly working itself out. No curled toes, which is...
