Well my goodness! Had not heard you broke your leg! So glad to hear you are improving. Love your new machine and totally understand needing space from the quilting challenge. Working with nice fabrics always seems to soothe my moods.
I learned on a Singer and then moved up to a Bernina. I’ve still got her. I just brought the sewing machine to our rent house where we are living during our farm house remodel. I’ve quilted double sized quilts on this one.
Perhaps the break away from the 3D will bring a new outlook. A 3D is a study in illusion...the appearance of depth that draws the mind and eye to complete the image. You have been so close to the task of completion that every "fudge" jumps out at you. They were necessary to keep the lines...
Cyn, it is a gorgeous quilt! Well worth all the effort and frustration putting it together has caused. And yes, a dark border would capture the movement of the eye across the quilt.
Had you decided how you are going to quilt the log cabin? You mentioned stitching in the ditch was not your favorite. The dye lost lines on the red fabric might inspire a rambling pattern.

Even when I set a tape band for a guide for the seams, invariably I'm off.
On Log Cabin blocks, I've learned to pin the seam lines and make minor adjustments...
Just checking up on Cyn's latest projects
Love the geometric gray and red.
I also hate having to rip and reset when center blocks must be really sharp alignments.
Sorry to hear about the red fabric for the backing, but glad you got a refund.
Have made two big orders from Thousandsofbolts and...
