Done that so sympathize, actually down to the bone. Even down to the bone just keeping a band aid on it to stabilize it works. It will help it heal and stay together. Tea tree oil would help it heal. Watch it for infection, might take a while. kinda weird looking at it. Didn't have health...
You are too dang busy!! Can't get much quilting done with a full time job, overtime this part of the year and all the other stuff keeping up with life demands when its just you.
You can add to the backing, I often piece mine with leftovers from the top of the quilt. Sometimes I make big blocks for the back from leftover fabric.
I have decided my next quilt is a double Irish Chain for me, I've made several but they went to family members.
GD hasn't brought me T shirts to start her quilt yet. I found a wonderful yardage of a batik hanging in my fabric/batting closet that will be a perfect focus fabric. OK, so need to...
LOL!! My coffee is awaiting me on work mornings when I get up. Definitely an addict. I forgot to go buy coffee beans last week so am stuck using my emergency ground ones. My source is near my work not home.
I've used Hobbs batting, very nice. I didn't even think about the creases, you're right!
I hate using packaged batting as the creases encourage puckers. On the roll it also keeps the batting even so it doesn't end up thinner within the creases. When I was quilting full time to avoid people...
Sorry about so many posts, haven't been here all week with overtime and physical therapy has meant for late nights getting home. Neck is doing better so may try some piecing this weekend.
You will LOVE not having creases in your batting!! I get the storage part. Most of my rolls are standing up on one end in a closet. I usually keep 2 on the rail under my machine (you don't have option). Those 2 are ones I use a lot: Hobbs 80/20 is one, the other can vary.
I know they are a little pricier but some of the thread companies have pre wound bobbins and they hold a lot more thread. I've tried them for piecing but at least 2 of my domestic machines don't like them but others have had good luck with them . I love them on my long arm because the tension...
I must say that this machine has the auto-thread cutter in the wrong place! I've accidentally cut my thread twice while powering bulk through the space. I usually avoid it, but it's trickier with a larger quilt. They need to move the button over or higher in future models.
The thing that's...
Totally agree. Or those people who say why spend the money on the fabric and all that time? you can just go to Wal-Mart and buy one for $30.00!! SHEESh nothing comparable.
