I'm so glad to have gotten this info. My favorite black dorking hen has a RC that I'm sure is a result of carrying the gene for a SC. I thought she just had an odd comb, but I'm sure now it's the genes. I'm glad, because I'd like to bred her to a SC and get more SCs.

Hey Hatch Bud -
I believe RC to be the dominant gene, based on the reading I've done... so I would assume that RC would always show up then - we will have to wait for the Great Dorking Council to speak on this one, as I am only a newbie and learning myself...
Well, I'm certainly...
Yellow House Farm, Thank you so much for your encouragement and taking the time to critique my little flock of Dorkings! I agree with you on your assesment of my black boy... he really is too triangular. I tried to choose pictures that really do represent how they look in person.
I've ordered...

I am totally laughing right now because I SO STRESSED MYSELF OUT over my hatch last year, I vowed I would NEVER do it again
But you know, I'd be willing to do it for some eggs, and it would be fun to do it "together" versus FREAKING out by myself! I run multi million dollar programs...
I REALLY like your SC Reds!! They all are pretty, but I'm going to try to get some more single combs. Are you joining the Easter Hatch? Check it out at https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=447147&p=1 . We could swap eggs for the Easter Hatch, if you'd like. Whatcha think?
Thanks!! The light one is the "Colored" one, or at least she came from colored parents... I don't know what she would really be called. She has dainty black tips to all her hackle feathers that don't show up in the photo, and these pale, subtle swirly patterns to most of her feathers. I really...
I took some pictures today of my new Dorkings. First let me say that I know the Coloreds should have single combs instead of rose, and I know that the blacks are not pure black. And I also know that my "colored" hen is too pale. Other than that, what do ya'll think of their structure? I think my...

I think that is who TOL Chick got some of her birds from. She has that same auction or another one with similar birds every few days. I've been watching them to see if she has any others.
I can't seem to get onto the Dorking Breeders Club website tonight for some reason, so I'll ask ya'll: What color earlobes are Dorkings supposed to have? I have one with pure bright white, a few have pure red, and the rest are red around the edges fading to whitish in the center. (All the eggs...
I'm going to buy some Silver Grey Dorking eggs from Dick Horstman. Anyone know how good of quality is stock is? I've read good things about his birds, but not anything about specifically his Dorkings. If anyone has his Dorkings I'd love to see pictures.
In fact I'm ready for more pictures on...
