Had a 5 egg day the other day, then a string of 7 2 days in a row, and 8 today, from 8 hens. I finally got to visit with them outside a little the other evening. Between the weather and my crazy schedule lately, I hadn't been paying them much attention. Maybe thats why I got 8 eggs today, lol...

5/8. Could have been more, one broken egg for sure. I thought son opened the coup, busy morning, didn't get to check on them until after lunch. If the run is closed, I usually end up with a broken egg :/. Always in the same box. I think Ding Bat chicken does it, there was not blueish green egg...

I've been getting 7/8 most days, though today was only 6 I think. Sometimes I lose count when my son collects. I think I got 7 5 days in a row this week.

6 Mon., 8 yesterday, 6 today. Out of 8 hens. I broke one today, its shell was a tiny bit thinner than usual. Looks like I need to give them a little more layer feed. They weren't eating quite as much when it was really cold, it seemed.

Back to 7/8 today. Didn't get my pretty darker brown one today.

Surprisingly got 6 again today. Haven't had below that for quite a while. Keep expecting 4 one day, but apparently a few are laying every day, all week. Had 5 before 9:30 a.m. so tomorrow might be a full 8 day. High of 9* tomorrow, might keep the run closed. Will have to get the eggs pretty...

I had gone out at 5 yesterday evening to let them out for a bit and tidy up the coop. My son went back out at 6 to close the door and one of my EEs had laid her egg. That's the latest they've ever laid. It was still hot, so she laid it in the dark!

6/8 yesterday and today.

7/8 again, for the third day in a row! Keep thinking they'll have a four egg day soon, but I'm not complaining! Two dozen in four days from 8 hens is good enough for me!

7/8 again today. I haven't ever gotten a double yolker, that i know of. One of the BA lays a pretty large, dark brown egg that often hits the top of the carton, but only one yolk. No one I've given the eggs to has mentioned it either. My son is already making a list of new chicks he wants to...

7/8. Ding Bat chicken didn't lay today. Her egg is a bluish green. My other EE is more greenish.

Yes, I actually put the date on the carton. I can keep track of that, at least, lol. If I get more than 2 or 3 dozen, usually over the weekend, my husband takes them to work. They are waiting in line fr those delicious eggs! We eat quite a few, here, too. Last week we were on a French toast...

Mine seem to lay 3 days in a row, for sure, then a day off. The pattern is if they lay very early in the morning, the next day they'll lay late morning/early afternoon, then the next day after lunch. The day after that, they won't lay. Then the cycle restarts. I think I read its every 26 or 28...

Not all chickens lay every single day. So they might all be laying, just not on the same days.
