I got 3 today, but they are eating their eggs if I dont get to them first. I have been giving them oyster shell and meat for protein
My hens are slow to get going this year, but after all they are 2 yrs old now
I am quite happy with my pullets, I am still getting any where between 10 - 12 eggs a day still, unless it's too cold. Yesterday I got 10. Who l knows how many I'll get today or tomorrow. Wind chill today is going to be about -15 to -20 and colder tomorrow. The high tomorrow is supposed to be -1 :/
HA at least you were able to get to them!!!! I found pieces of those in my coop!!!! My pullets would eat them.... caught one with an egg like that today. As for the egg count I got 11/12
I will celebrate with some scrambled eggs in the morning. :D
I used the wazine. Only one of my pullets seemed to be infected. "Goldilox" was the only one I noticed loosing a little weight, and had runny poo. So we just treated the whole flock.
It's just depressing to throw that many eggs away.
I haven't checked the egg count today
Yes it is a bummer!!!! But I'd rather be safe than sorry..... we medicated for worms on Sunday. The bottle says not to use the eggs for 14 days after treatment, so I'm splitting the difference and going with 10? Good idea or wait out the whole 14 days?
I got 10 from 12
They ate one before I found it... must have been a soft shell. Those are the only ones they eat.
I have 4 nest boxes and they still all seem to want to "share" the same box.
Oh yeah and it's the funniest thing I have ever seen. I have one that will wiggle her way into a box that is occupied because she doesn't want the open one.... lol It's funny to watch her walk from one box t the next and figure out which box she is going to push her way into. And as far as them...
Happi, she will wiggle her way into the same box with the other pullet/hen...mine do it all the time.
I got 10 from 12 today. Got one "egg" with no shell at all this morning.
