@Blooie did you see the seedling heat mat to egg nest warmer conversion? If you've got electricity in your coop, that might work for you. Or then you can fill a sock with rice, throw it in the microwave for 3-4 minutes and put it under the bedding in the egg nest.

Cat food works for upping the protein during molt too. But you shouldn't feed them too high protein feed constantly, it's not good for them. Something around 18% is probably fine for layers.

Still just getting the one egg per day. Only two are sitting in the nest anymore, but the other two haven't resumed production yet. And the sixth still hasn't laid it's first egg at almost 25 weeks.
