Thanks... That's what I thought too. I have 6... All but one have green tail feathers now. I'm not pleased as I really can't keep Roos here and I needed more pullets. Guess I'll be ordering more babies. Still rather annoyed at getting the wrong birds and the 3 1/2 month delay!
I wish we had extra to sell. My girls are almost 2 and slowing down... And the new ones are still a few weeks out. And that's not the mention the conundrum above. :-/
I'm feeling rather annoyed... I (against my better judgement) bought some chicks at TSC. These are supposed to be production Red pullets.
Please tell me I'm not seeing Roo feathers! And what breed would you say these are?

I'm looking to re-home this fellow... he's about 17 weeks and very sweet. We live residential and can't keep him. He's a real pretty smoky color Silkie roo.
One of my Eggers looked just like that one facing forward in the center right... she's in my avatar.. has a great beard now! Love my Eggers... I only have 2 but one lays light blue eggs and other one lays light green. :) Good luck with them!
Beautiful Coop! :)
So I picked up 5 more...
I've been given the go-ahead by dh to get more chicks! Does anyone have any? Looking for good layers but something different from what I have. I don't want to travel too much further and about 1.5hrs from Newark.
It was hot and sunny here today. She laid an egg and was setting up a nice cozy nest. She spent a good long time wandering in the woods looking for a place. I was just glad it was right at the edge and I saw her rustling or I would have thought she was gone! Lol.
I use nipples too for the hens inside the coop but have recently put the old waterer out in the run. They do seem to prefer to drink from the basin but it sure did get the shavings all wet.
Welcome Kourtnie!
I'm just next door to your place of birth here in Granville. Good luck with your flock!!
Too cute!!!
Our eggs are coming now!!! So happy! 6 yesterday & 3 today from the 10 girls. I think the only one not laying is one of the EE.
It was so pretty today. The girls were out...
Welcome... from your neighbor to the East.
Well it's been a good few days here.... we are finally getting some eggs!! :) Yesterday was a record with 5 eggs from the 10 ladies... so at least I know 1/2 of them are laying! Oh and we got our first Easter Egger egg on the day before Easter - a...
Lol. I've been formulating my poultry program too.
Big news... Apparently Irish eyes were smiling on me yesterday as we got our first egg! So so excited. I've checked twice today but haven't found another. I know this is just the beginning and eventually I might see 10 a day. So eggciting...
