The first time I experienced gout, I rushed to the ER asking for x-rays to be taken on my toe; I had thought I broke a bone. My experience is, I take the anti-inflammatory pills with 3 ibuprofens and wash it down with 3 beers. Works wonders with the pain..hehe
Thank you for the recommendation! We just bought a 3 lbs bag of sweet cherries from Marc's...and my blueberry bush has a few berries on it, but isn't ready for harvest. I've got meds for the gout, but it takes a few days to help out.
Thank you...I've noticed that I've been getting gout almost every other month now, and it normally last between 5 and 8 days. They told me to cut down on my red meat intake and drinking liquor. Waiting on my second opinion...
Where are all my other Buckeye friends? I'm home, nursing gout on my right foot, so I have time to kill. Anyways, hope all my peeps are doing ok in this heat.
It was great finally receiving Link (Lincoln) this morning. Can't get over how handsome he is, and am sure he will fit into the flock nicely. He will fill a hole that showed up after a tornado played havoc in our area and we lost a few roosters and hens.
Nice to finally meet the hubby, and...
Once again, my offer stands. I just want to make sure he lives out his full life. Yeah, Henrietta is developing a nice persona. She is the first to welcome me when I go feed and water them, and she always jumps on my arm to perch..which reminded me of Ursula...hence, me naming her Henrietta. LOL
How's it going with finding someone to take in your rooster? BTW, I named one of my latest hatchings, Henrietta. The group turns 8 weeks old this week and I am just getting ready to integrate them into the flock outside.
Thank you...it's one of the only reason I am able to take in so many roosters. I'm not sure how many of my hatched chicks are cockerals yet, but I'm sure a few. Planning on doing a bachelors' pen.
Welcome to the forum! We used to have a chapter in your neck of the woods, so I would frequent the area from time to time. Let us know if/when the time comes to rehome a few of your boys. I, for one, take in any roos, and either let them live their lives here on our property, or help find...
Alot of us know about the anxieties this particular situation causes. All of our chickens and ducks are pets to us and are spoiled as much as possible.
Hello ClevelandRick,
I've been taking in roosters/hens that need rehoming. My intentions are to allow for them to live out their normal lives, without fear of being served at the dinner table. So, I offer myself as a last resort, if you can not find anywhere/one else offering to take them in...
If you cannot find a new home for them, I can be a last resort. I try and save roosters and let them live out their lives. So I am not after any for consumption.
