Lucky you. I am glad that you got so many Hens the first time around. My buck a duck was no big deal since I hopefully have a home for them and it was fun watching them get so big already.
It just makes me wonder if that is how these hatcheries get rid of their drakes. My friend got 6 drakes and 2 hens and this is the first time I have ever bought from TSC and I got 2 drakes. I have always managed to get a hen and a drake from our Rural King. I should have known better but...
Amen to that. My Son served along with my Father, Father in law, brother and ex husband. It is the ones that served that have given me the Freedom I have today and I always thank a Veteran or Service man or woman for their Service whenever I can recognize them. Sometimes they will have a...
You have a wonderful day also Mark, it was good hearing from you. I hope your ducklings are all doing well. My Rouen ducks that I got for a buck a duck are in with the others now and of course both are males. I have a friend that says she will take my three drakes in July when she moves...
It's going to be 90 degrees here today, now if only I could figure how to get an air conditioner in my bus. lol We have 2 buses that have it but only for the handicapped children, not the drivers. It really tires you out when it is that hot.
Ours is Thursday but next year we go until after Memorial day!!! I am not happy about that. I will clean buses though starting Friday and do that for how ever many I get to clean. Just depends on who all signs up and who does not want to clean theirs.
That was my dilemma. I have the one Mallard Runner Drake that is beautiful but he will not leave my Muscovy and Mule Hen alone. They are always scared and hiding from him. I have my 3 little Call drakes that do mate with the Khaki Campbell and Mallard girls and now have one Call Drake Hen...
How do you keep the drakes from over mating your Hens or pestering them to death. I think you said one time you have a lots of land if I remember right.
I hope you have Hens and Good Luck to you too Mark. Knobby rescues Drakes, we will have to get in touch with him, lol. I have a friend that wants to start a drake flock so I might be in luck rehoming mine. I hate to see him go, he's absolutely beautiful but such a little butthead.
I still have my 2 older Mallard Hens that are about 3 years old now and one Mallard Drake Runner. If I rehome any it would be the two Drakes in the bunch because I have small Hens and the Mallard Runner won't leave my big Muscovy and Mule Ducks alone. I might be hatching out some Hinnie Ducks...
